Amanda Brugel

(February 27th, 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in that part of the island of Montreal known as the West Island. This West Island, to those who have never heard of it, is a large area that extends from Lachine until the west. Amanda Brugel grew up on this island, and it is frequently referred to as her birthplace. But she only resided there for a very short period of time. Brugel became an aspiring young lady within Courtice Ontario, just outside Oshawa. The first goal she had was to become a dancer. Then, a growth increase caused her to surpass all of the dance partners she was able to have. The Toronto Star article revealed she's six feet tall, with heels. As I got bigger than my male dancers, I decided to quit. Brugel was one of many former dancers who turned to acting. The teacher she had at high school encouraged her to take the next step. The teacher was the one who suggested she audition as Anne in the school's annual production. The student tried it out, and was eventually cast as the role of the main character in Anne of Green Gables. She was given a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to take part in York University's Theater Program which she completed in 2000 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. Through the years that followed, Brugel has landed roles on over 60 shows on the big and small screens, attracting the greatest attention when she landed the part of Rita in the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the sole Canadian part of the cast during Season 1 of the series and only appeared on occasion.

Anna Gunn was born in the United States. Anna Gunn is an American actress. The actress also played Martha Bullock in Deadwood and Jean Ward on The Practice. Anna Gunn was born in Sante Fe New Mexico, in 1968. Her passion for performing in Preparatory School after which she moved to Ohio with her family in the late 1970s.
